Signet Rings ARE Still Cool!!

Gold Stacked Rings

Yup, I gave myself a gift for no reason at all.  Yes, I am feeling very spoiled. I believe us women have to spoil ourselves! As women, mom’s, wives, grandma’s ahhhh let’s just say ALL women should spoil themselves occasionally!! It can be as easy as an hour alone to do NOTHING. It can be a new book, a manicure. It can also be jewelry!! It keeps us sane, happy and able to care for everyone else in our life. This year my favorite gift to ME, me, me is jewelry! I mean really is jewelry ever a bad gift?? Whether it’s from someone special or a gift to yourself. ( cough cough and in  my best Tim The Toolman Taylor voice} “HOOHOOO JEWELRY GOOD!” I am a huge fan of classic jewelry! Classic Rings in particular!! A great quality ring will never go out of style, you can pair it with everything! You can wear it everyday!  Dressed up or dressed down. With jeans or a little black dress. In the garden or out to dinner.

Signet Ring Square
Signet rings are one of those classic pieces that has always held a special fascination for me from. The first time I fell in love was watching Diana, Princess of Wales wearing one back in 1988. Stars like  Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Katie Holmes have been sporting signet rings on their little fingers as well. Did you know that the Duchess of Cambridge prepared to marry into the royal family, the Middletons were granted their own crest by the College of Arms; sister Pippa is now rarely seen without a gold signet on her little finger.

There is proof that classic jewelry never goes out of style. For instance, I recently saw that Zales has the Marilyn Monroe jewelry collection. She’s been gone since 1962 (58 YEARS!) and yet we are still fascinated by her style. I personally don’t believe I’ve ever seen this particular ring before but it’s a stunning piece!! I love the simplicity of the design.
Marilyn Monroe ringBut, my present to me was a little more old school design.

Gold jewelry
I am in love with this square design of this particular pinkie ring. Of course I had to have an A inscribed on my new ring. (was there really any doubt?)

Y’all know eight year old Granddaughter Alice is my little spirit animal. That kid brings constant joy to my heart. Now she brings me joy on my pinkie too!

Now (as if I really needed a reminder!) I glimpse my ring as I knit or type or sew… there is my monogram pinkie ring gleaming in the sunshine (or snow shine!)

So little Peanuts. Do you have a classic piece of jewelry that you have loved for years. Whether you own it now or are just secretly drooling over it.

  1. The Modern Cigar Band is a stylish and beautiful ring that my nephew would love. The simple but classic look suits his style.

  2. Oh I like! I like this one the 1/15 CT. T.W. Diamond Tri-Sides Infinity Shank Promise Ring. On and it’s in Sterling Silver too. Connie you’re getting me in trouble! LOL

  3. I really love the Pave Diamond Zodiac Bracelet is very beautiful. How about I would take one, now just one of each in the store.

  4. Midi Stackable Twist Diamond Ring is adorable! I love so many of their items and yeah if I had unlimited choices I would pick everything LOL

  5. I also love the assynetric pearl ring. It very pretty! Connie, I am going to be more broke than I already am if I keep looking at these beautiful pieces of jewelry. Husband might throw me out into the snow bank! lol

  6. The Flower Earring Back Large are so unique and just gorgeous!
I wonder how heavy they are though. They sure would be pretty to wear on a special occasion.

  7. The Kaleidoscope Bar Pendant is delicate and pretty. It would go with any outfit since it has 24 sapphires and precious stones of every shade!

  8. I really like the White Diamond Ring in rose gold. It is just beautiful! Connie your costing me money with all these pretty things you post. LOL

  9. Now I just looked at the Medium Diamond Solitaire Ring it is absolutely gorgeous! I know that the round diamond ones would probably stay in the setting better but I love the square ones. I lost mine because of the prongs wearing out. So I haven’t had one in years. Guess not much need when you live on a farm and tend goats, chickens and so forth. LOL

    1. Diane, I do love that ring. Even though we are up here on the mountain I still wear my wedding set. Truthfully, only because I’ve gained so much weight the only way these are coming off is if someone cuts ’em off or cuts my finger off.

  10. I really love the Medium Diamond ring. I like the square shape of the diamonds more than the round shapes.

  11. I like the Halo Diamond Opal Ring on the website. My only nice pieces of jewelry I own are my engagement and wedding rings.

  12. I really love the dainty jewelry. It’s so simple yet elegant one of my favorites would be the Mini Medallion Necklace $250. It’s gorgeous.

  13. I don’t think I’ve ever worn a signet ring. I did own a gold Claddagh child’s ring that I used to wear on my little finger but it ‘disappeared’ during a house move.

  14. Of course I would love the Skinny Cuff at $980 but hey its 14K SOLID GOLD. What did I say about me not being cheap?

  15. Zales has two of them that I like one is a heart with a small diamond and one is a heart shape made out of diamonds. I like just about all heart shaped jewelry.

    1. Shannon I have a heart necklace like you described tons of diamonds in a heart shape. The Husband gave that to me about 25 years ago and it’s still one of my top 3 pieces of jewelry. I love hearts!

  16. Seeing as how I’m doing Beauty & The Beast I’m going to pick the Enchanted Disney Belle Diamond Accent Rose in Glass Dome Pendant in Sterling Silver and 10K Rose Gold – 24″

  17. I think I too love the Signet Ring $220 14k solid gold. It is so simple yet a very classy ring, but then anything 14K solid gold would be. Right!

  18. I don’t know a lot about jewelry, because I never wear it except for my wedding rings. I just have to add that adding another giveaway entry after the contest already started is, in my opinion, unfair and pretty cheesy.

    1. Jennifer, that is cute!! I hadn’t even seen that line. I like that there are matching earrings, bracelet and a ring! I don’t think I would wear all together but mix ’em up with other pieces IN A HEART BEAT!!

  19. My jewelry gift I give myself is earrings. I don’t wear rings or watches or necklaces but I’m always wearing earrings.

    1. Sarah, The Husband gave me a pair of diamond earrings for Christmas one year and those are the only ones I wear. Now rings? Ohhhh I am all over the left hand rings (just one) but I love my collection. I love to change it up, silver and gold, fun to funky.

  20. They are nice, I don’t have one, though. It it great to give yourself a gift now and then, as that way, you know you are getting something you really like!

  21. I do remember when signet rings were everywhere in the 80’s. Glad to see them making a comeback. I like classic jewelry. I have several cameo rings that I love.

    1. Tamra, I have my Great Grandmothers cameo pin. It’s stunning. I wear it on my jean jacket which sounds weird but it works. I have a lace hankie behind it. It’s a fun funky look.

  22. Hum favorite piece of jewelry! I guess I would have to say that my favorite thing was my mother’s jewelry box full of her favorite things. I never really wore any of it. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love jewelry but I never wear it. Not sure why but I never keep it on if I do wear it. I finally gave my mother’s box to my oldest daughter and she is dividing it out so that each great-granddaughter will have a piece to have at their wedding.

    1. Diane, I need to do that. I don’t know why I have so much of my mother’s jewelry. I need to divide up mine and mom’s and give it to the kids. I LOVE the idea that the jewelry will be handed down.

  23. I have a set of marachite jewelery that was my grandmothers…she brought it over from Europe in the early 1900’s whether it was originally her mum’s I don’t know….it is a 5 piece set of large ring with onyx stone, necklace, bracelet and 2 pairs of earrings…I cherish it and wear it for all fancy occasions….

      1. Wow, Michele, what a wonderful thing to own. You really must put your memories into print. My Mum’s wedding ring is 22 carat Welsh gold from her grandmother’s original ring that was split into 3 for her two daughters and herself and then passed down through the family. These are the important things – as human beings we need connections.
